Hi, I am Klára Nagy.
I live in the north-east of Hungary in a small town called Sárospatak, divided by the Bodrog river. I design knitting patterns with simple and clear instructions.
I consider it a great privilege and opportunity that today most of us knit or do other crafts not out of necessity but as a hobby. We knit because it calms us, relaxes us … not because our daily livelihood depends on it. Knitting is a craft today, but in the past it was often hard work. To sew clothes people had to weave the canvas, silk … To weave they needed yarn and to make yarn they had to sow the flax seeds, shear the sheep … Yes, they do that today, but we who create with yarn buy the yarn in the shop, at fairs, on the internet … People used to make everything themselves. Be thankful that you can create!

Facts
I like hiking, but for me hiking is not a sport. I like to admire trees, flowers, streams and stones. Listening to birds fluttering their wings. Breathing in the smell of the forest, or the smell I get after it rains. I love old buildings, ruins and exhibitions. I’m grateful that when I look up at the sky from our garden, I can see lots of stars when there are no clouds. And for living in a place where I can easily access all of this.
Thank you for visiting. Come back often!
